Who we are

CAQA Deepridge Resources, mining, quarrying, drilling and civil infrastructure

CAQA Deepridge Resources is a mid-sized resources and infrastructure company. It operates a hard rock quarry at Wattle Creek producing road base, aggregates and manufactured sand, an open cut coal mine in the Bowen Basin producing thermal coal for export, a drilling services division that carries out exploration, water bore, geotechnical and horizontal directional drilling, and a civil infrastructure division that builds and maintains haul roads, drainage, pavements and mine site infrastructure. Customers include state road authorities, local councils, larger mining houses, utilities and civil contractors across New South Wales and Queensland.

The company runs six departments across its three sites: Surface Extraction Operations, Processing Plant, Drilling Services, Civil Infrastructure, Plant and Maintenance, and Health, Safety, Environment and Training. The open cut runs two twelve-hour shifts, seven days a week, on a seven-days-on, seven-days-off roster with a fly-in fly-out and drive-in drive-out workforce. The quarry works day shift Monday to Saturday with a night crushing shift during peak road construction season. Drilling crews mobilise to client sites for two to four weeks at a time and civil crews work on projects from the Toowoomba depot.

Nobody gets hurt

We plan every task, control every hazard and stop the job when the controls are not in place.

Do it right

We follow the procedure, the permit and the plan, and we fix the procedure when it is wrong rather than working around it.

Respect the ground

We manage dust, noise, water and rehabilitation as carefully as production, because the community and the land outlast the mine.

Straight talk

We report hazards, incidents and mistakes early and honestly so they can be fixed before someone is harmed.

What we do

Services and operations

To extract, process, drill and build safely and efficiently so that every worker goes home unharmed, every customer gets what they ordered and every site is left in good condition.

Quarry products

Road base, aggregates, rail ballast and manufactured sand from the Wattle Creek quarry, produced to specification with test certificates and delivered by contracted tippers to councils and road contractors.

Open cut coal mining

Drill, blast, load and haul operations at the Deepridge open cut with a fleet of excavators, rigid haul trucks, dozers and graders, and a coal handling and preparation plant.

Exploration and geotechnical drilling

Reverse circulation, diamond core, auger and sonic drilling for exploration and geotechnical programs on client tenements and infrastructure projects across both states.

Water bore and directional drilling

Construction of monitoring, production and dewatering bores and horizontal directional drilling for pipe and conduit installation under roads, rail and waterways.

Civil construction and haul roads

Earthworks, haul road construction and maintenance, drainage, culverts, concrete pads and sealed pavements for mine sites, councils and utilities.
