The situation

What has happened

Blast 26-41 on the north wall of the Deepridge open cut fires on 16 September 2026 in a 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm window. Sixty-two holes have been drilled and surveyed and the design has been approved. On 20 August a sentry left a post before the all clear, and the blast checklist now includes a radio check at every post before firing. The north dump tension crack sits within 300 metres of the blast, and the neighbouring property to the north is a sensitive receiver for vibration and overpressure. The magazine issue must reconcile with the magazine register, and wind and dust trigger levels must be confirmed with the HSE and Training Manager.

Your brief. Prepare the exclusion zone plan and sentry roster, complete the magazine issue paperwork, run the pre-blast checks from the Blast Management Plan, confirm the environmental trigger levels, and set out the post-blast inspection and reporting steps for the Blast Crew Leader's review.

Look for an exclusion zone that accounts for every access and the closed dump, a sentry sequence that cannot be short-cut, magazine paperwork that reconciles to the register, and a clear understanding that weather triggers stop the blast regardless of schedule.
