Purpose. This policy states how Deepridge Resources manages dust, noise, blast vibration, water, waste, heritage and rehabilitation at its sites in line with its environmental authorities.

1.Commitment

Deepridge will operate within the conditions of its environmental authorities and development consents and will manage its impacts on neighbours, water, land and cultural heritage. The company will monitor, report and act on exceedances promptly and openly.

2.Dust and noise

Dust will be controlled by water carts on haul roads, sprays on crushers and stockpiles, wind speed triggers for blasting and stockpile shaping. Noise will be managed through equipment selection, operating hours and haul road design. Real-time monitors at the site boundaries will alert the shift supervisor when trigger levels are approached, and work must be modified or stopped as the trigger action response plan requires.

3.Water and waste

Site water will be captured in sediment dams and reused. Discharge will only occur within licence conditions and will be sampled and recorded. Hydrocarbons, tyres, batteries and drilling waste must be stored and disposed of through licensed contractors and recorded on the waste register.

4.Heritage and land

No ground disturbance will occur outside approved areas. Where cultural heritage is found or suspected, work must stop and the HSE and Training Manager must be notified. Rehabilitation will follow the approved plan and be tracked against completion criteria.

  • Ground disturbance permit before any new disturbance
  • Stop work on any heritage find
  • Progressive rehabilitation of completed areas

5.Complaints and reporting

Community complaints must be logged in the hazard and incident register on the day and investigated within five working days. Exceedances and incidents that must be reported to the environmental regulator will be reported within the time the authority requires.

6.Responsibilities

The General Manager Operations owns this policy. Site managers must ensure monitoring and controls are in place. The HSE and Training Manager coordinates monitoring, reporting and complaints. All workers must follow the environmental controls and report spills, dust and noise concerns immediately.
