Purpose. This register lists the laws, regulations, licences, environmental authorities, codes and standards that apply to each Deepridge site and the person responsible for compliance with each.

1.What the register records

For each requirement the register holds the name of the instrument in words, the site or sites it applies to, the obligations it creates in plain language, the responsible manager, the evidence of compliance and the date last reviewed. It covers safety, explosives, environmental, water, heritage, employment and transport requirements.

2.Site coverage

The register distinguishes between the New South Wales requirements that govern the Wattle Creek quarry and the Queensland requirements that govern the open cut and the depot, and lists the client site requirements for drilling and civil crews working away from Deepridge sites.

  • Mine and quarry safety and health laws of each state
  • General work health and safety law
  • Explosives licensing and the magazine licence conditions
  • Environmental authorities and development consent conditions
  • Water licences and dewatering approvals
  • Heritage and native title agreements

3.Maintaining the register

The HSE and Training Manager reviews the register quarterly and when a law or licence condition changes. Site managers must confirm the evidence of compliance for their site at each review. Changes must be communicated at prestart and in the monthly safety committee.

4.Licence and authority conditions

Each licence and authority condition that requires monitoring, reporting or a specific action is listed as its own line with the due date and the responsible person, so that no reporting date is missed.

5.Access

The register is available to all supervisors and to regulators on request. It is the reference for the compliance audits run under the Health and Safety Policy.
